Program Helps Residents Bring the Library to Them

The Library2You program delivers materials to residents who are unable to visit their local branch.

The Cuyahoga County Public Library is offering a new service to residents who are unable to visit their local branch.Β Β 

The program, called Library2You, is designed to help homebound residents check out materials from the library system. The materials will be delivered for free by mail, according to a press release from the library. The program is supported by The McGregor Foundation.

In the past, programs for residents who couldn’t get to the library varied by the branch, said Brecksville branch manager Cathy Schultis. For example, the most recently worked with volunteers from the city’s to deliver requested materials to residents.Β

This program will set a system-wide standard, and the fact that it uses the United States Postal Service will make it more reliable for users, Schultis said.Β Β 

Interested residents can apply online or by calling 216.749.9307. Residents must be 60 or older, have a physical, visual or mental impairment or be temporarily homebound, according to the press release.
