Remembering Sept. 11 Around the Region

With the 10-year anniversary of Sept. 11 approaching, area Patches have about the unforgettable day of the terrorist attacks and the years that it shaped. 

Here are a few inspiring and touching stories from local Patches:

• spoke to a Bath resident and Cuyahoga Falls firefighter who spent time searching through the rubble in New York City after the attack. He also shared photos from his time there.
• talked to a woman who was kept from her father’s side as he passed away because planes were not allowed in the sky. 
• looked to the future, focusing on a Sept. 11 memorial set to be unveiled in the city on the 10-year anniversary.
