Renewal Levy Will be on the Ballot in August

It’s official—the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Board of Education voted to put a 6.8-mill renewal levy on the Aug. 7 ballot.

The levy was first passed in 1997 and won’t raise taxes for homeowners. It brings in about $5.2 million per year for the district, and costs homeowners about $158 per $100,000 of property value.

Part of the levy goes toward permanent improvements—district renovations and repairs—and the rest goes to the general operating fund. If passed, the renewal would last for three years. The board discussed this levy at its meetings in and . Monday's vote was the final step toward putting it on August’s ballot.
