Santa Will Be Spending a Lot of Time in Brecksville This Year
Check out the events below to get all the details on upcoming holiday events and to see when Santa will be dropping by.

Since so many of Brecksville’s children made it on Santa’s “Nice” list this year, the jolly old man will be making several stops around the city to find out what all the youngsters want for Christmas.
But getting Santa’s December itinerary wasn’t easy. Brecksville Patch had to phone several folks from around the city who agreed to offer up all the holiday details:

When: From 12 to 3 p.m. on Dec. 3
Where: The (adjacent to David’s Clothing for Men and Women)

Details: Bring your children down to the Brecksville Town Center and get their photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus. As a special bonus, real, live reindeer will accompany the famous holiday couple. Photos will be $6 each or $10 for two. All proceeds will go to benefit the . For more information, call the Snider Company at 440-526-2105.
Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting
When: 4 p.m. on Dec. 4
Where: Brecksville City Hall, Public Square
Details: This special holiday event is open to the public, and those who are marching in the parade are encouraged to get to City Hall by 3:30 p.m. The parade will step off at 4 p.m. and will end at Brecksville’s Public Square, which will be the site of this year’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
Annual Children’s Christmas Play
When: At 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Dec. 10 and Dec. 11

Details: Every year, as a gift to the city, Mayor Jerry N. Hruby writes a play for Brecksville’s children to perform, according to Brecksville Community Center special events coordinator Kelly McNeill. This year, he decided to remake a 1997 play he wrote, titled “The Christmas With a Most Special Delivery.” Admission is free, but each person is asked to bring one canned food item that will be donated to the Brecksville Pantry program. Call the Brecksville Community Center at 440-546-2300 to reserve your seat.
Santa’s Calling
When: From 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 13 and Dec. 14

Details: Want your son or daughter to receive a special call from Santa? To participate, parents are asked to fill out a form provided by the Brecksville Community Center, McNeill said. Simply submit a few quick details about your children and what gifts/wishes they have for the holidays, and Santa will give them a call and light up their imaginations. Call the Brecksville Community Center at 440-546-2300 for more information.
Breakfast with Santa at Creekside
When: From 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Dec. 17
Where: Creekside Restaurant and Bar
Details: The breakfast will include: pancakes and Belgian waffles, bacon and sausage, hash browns and more. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children. Each child will receive a treat bag. Don’t forget to bring your camera to get a photo with Santa. Tickets can be purchased online at www.creeksiderestaurant.com. For more information, call 440-546-0555.
Santa Delivery
When: From 2-6 p.m. on Dec. 18

Details: Want Santa to deliver a special gift to your child? Each year, the , with Santa’s help, distributes over 1,000 gifts to Brecksville’s “Nice” kids. The Kiwanis Club asks that packages be no larger than a shoebox and to include the child’s name, address and telephone number in the left hand corner of the gift. Please use light-colored wrapping paper. Drop off your package to Chippewa Place on Dec. 14-15 from 12-5 p.m., Dec. 16 from 12-7 p.m. or Dec. 17 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Gifts will be hand delivered from 2-6 p.m. on Dec. 18. Breakfast with Santa
When: From 9:30 to 11 a.m. Dec. 19 and Dec. 20
Where: Brecksville Community Center
Details: The breakfast will include: French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, mini muffins, milk and orange juice, McNeill said. During the meal, Santa will go around and visit the kids as they’re eating. Santa will also read a story and invite kids to sit on his lap. Tickets are $7 per person and registration starts on Dec. 1. Seating is limited. For more information, call the Brecksville Community Center at 440-546-2300.
