The BRECKSVILLE CENTER FOR THE ARTS is preparing to present its first of two major fundraisers for the year. The benefit entitled The Brecksville Center for the Arts Celebrates Summer will consist of an early evening wine tasting and silent auction at the Westfield Bank branch in Brecksville on Sunday June 9. The benefit will feature wines provided and selected by the Brecksville Bootlegger, heavy hors D’Oeuvres provided by Heinens, and the work of Don Drumm of the Don Drumm Studio & Gallery in Akron. Mr. Drumm is a well renown sculptor, designer and craftsman who specializes in the creation of cast aluminum artwork that is both sculptural and functional. He has received many awards and honors. His work is on display throughout the world and pieces on display in Brecksville will be available for purchase. Executive Director of the Center John Klassen took great care in selecting a wide variety of pieces that include wall and table sculpture, mirrors, garden art, and functional boxes and pins.
The cost of the benefit is $30 per person with all net proceeds, including a portion of the art sold, going to benefit the general fund of the Brecksville Center for the Arts. The Brecksville Center for the Arts is a non-profit arts center dedicated to the enhancement and appreciation of the arts by offering affordable classes, events, student scholarships and community collaborations to the regional community.
The benefit will be held from 5 to 7 at the Westfield Bank branch at 8751 Brecksville Road.
