The Little Bald Eagle is All Grown Up—Trail Restrictions Lifted

Earlier this year, a pair of bald eagles made their home near the Station Road Bridge Trailhead in Brecksville, and the put restrictions on nearby areas to protect their nest from visitors.

The park reports in a press release that the eagles successfully hatched and raised one eaglet. The eaglet has now fledged, which means it can fly, and the restrictions have been lifted.

The railroad tracks and the right of way near the trail are now open, and the Cuyahoga River from the Brecksville Dam to the Fitzwater Road Bridge is open to water activities, like boating and fishing, according to the release. Those areas had been closed to the public while the eagles were raising the eaglet.

The Cleveland Metroparks posted some photos of the eagles on its Facebook page in April.
