The Moonlight Express

Call the babysitter and take someone special for a romantic ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. this Friday, Feb. 11.  The train boards at the .

This is their Valentine's Day Moonlight Express tour called "That's Amor!" and it is part of a series of "Grape Escape" wine-tasting excursions. These popular tours are held about once a month.

Gloria Bonamer, who works in customer service for the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, said that the wine-tasting will consist of five wines from South America. Each wine will be paired with an appetizer specifically designed to complement the wine. The food is catered by Acme Catering and will be prepared by one of their chefs.

Ticket prices range from $55 to $90. The $55 seats are in the coach car which seats 80 people. Each two-person seat in the coach faces another seat with no table. First-class seats are $75, and this car offers seats with tables. Tickets can be reserved on the CVSR website.

Executive Class Seats in the St. Lucie Sound luxury car are $90 per person. The St. Lucie Sound car seats just 30 guests. Bonamer said that this car boasts more of a living-room feel with couches and comfortable arm chairs.

The Weather Channel predicts that Friday night will be a bit cloudy and, according to the website moonconnection.com, the sky will be lit with a quarter moon.

Each guest will take home a commemorative Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad tasting glass to remember the evening.

With all of the snow and the bright quarter moon, it should be a beautiful night to relax and enjoy the view with your significant other. Getting out without the kids once in a while helps recharge your batteries, and it's nice not to have to wipe anyone's nose but your own sometimes.

If you can't make it to the Moonlight Express, the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad runs every weekend during the winter and is currently offering $10 cabin-fever seats.
