For many athletes, being enshrined in a Hall of Fame is the stamp validating their stellar career.
This fact is even more reason to congratulate Mary Stupczy, a physical therapist at The Village at Marymount, who by the end of the month will have been inducted into two Halls of Fame — Walsh Jesuit High School and the University of Akron.
On April 12, Stupczy will be one of nine former Walsh Jesuit High School athletes to be enshrined in the Warriors’ Athletic Hall of Fame.

Stupczy was enshrined in the University of Akron’s Sports Hall of Fame on Feb. 28 during ceremonies honoring the Zips’ 39th Hall of Fame induction class. Stupczy was a track star for the Zips.
“In high school I looked at sports as a fun thing to do,” Stupczy said. “When I got to Akron (sports) was all about focus and hard work and driving and pushing forward.

“(As a physical therapist) I push my patients to do the same. Never say never, achieve your goals, and push beyond your limits.”
