Video: Brecksville-Broadview Heights Board of Education Honors Student Athletes, Artists

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Board of Education last night honored some of the student athletes and artists in the district. The room was filled at the beginning of the , as people waited to watch the honors.
The board presented each student with a Brecksville-Broadview Heights excellence in education pin – a new honor that has been passed out to few individuals so far, said Superintendent Scot Prebles.
“It is a big night,” he added.

The students – and often, their coaches or advisers – received a pin, a district pen, an honors certificate and a gift certificate, in addition to applause from the crowd.

- The , which this year. It is the 11th title total. Prebles noted that it’s a young team, which means they have a “very bright future,” he said.
- The seven high school students who received state recognition for the Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition. The students’ work was chosen were among the top 300 of about 12,000 entries. Prebles called their work “touching” and “inspirational.”
- A wrestler from the high school wrestling team, Marshal Willet, at the state tournament this year. Prebles noted that Willet is only the eighth wrestler in school history to have 100 wins in his career and that he set a record by having 41 wins this year alone.
