Virginia-Based Earthquake Felt In Ohio

The effects of a 5.9-magnitude earthquake were felt in Ohio Tuesday afternoon.
The earthquake originated in Virginia, but people reported feeling the shock waves in states like Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Connecticut and Ohio, according to the United States Geological Survey. As of 3:06 p.m., the site had a number of reports from users in Ohio, including one from Brecksville.
Amy Perhacs, a dispatcher for the Brecksville Police Department, said six to seven people had called about the earthquake, but she hadn’t heard of any damage in the city.

Cleveland.com reported that some buildings were unofficially evacuated in downtown Cleveland, while Ohio.com reports that some were evacuated in downtown Akron.
