Week in Review: Aug. 1 – 7

There was a lot of news this week in Brecksville. Here’s a quick overview:

• The city learned that , a Marine from Brecksville, died July 31 in Afghanistan. The funeral services for Kancler, the son of the former police chief, and will take place next week.
• The 6.9-mill renewal levy for the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District , according to unofficial numbers from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. The superintendent and the Board of Education president on the passage of the levy – in short, they were pleased. 
• Brecksville’s Planning Commission met earlier this week and discussed , from a potential new business to new cell phone towers.
• And this week’s addressed how to keep your pets safe in the summer heat.
