• Canton police searching for suspect after two women shot (thesuburbanite.com) — Canton police are searching for a 25-year-old local woman wanted on four counts of felonious assault after two women were shot on Sixth Street SW the night of Aug. 18. The victims, ages 22 and 23, were treated for non-life-threatening leg wounds at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital. Residents are urged to share any tips with Canton police, the communications center, or Crime Stoppers.
   

• City Speaks Out, Apologizes After Teen Mistakenly Placed in Cuffs (whbc.com subscription) — City leaders in Canton are apologizing after police briefly handcuffed a 14-year-old boy in a mistaken-identity incident tied to a car-theft investigation. Public Safety Director Andrea Perry called the officers' conduct unacceptable, Mayor Bill Sherer emphasized residents' right to dignity and respect, and Canton police say the correct suspects have since been arrested as the investigation continues.
   

• Canton McKinley blanks Warren Harding 33-0 in dominant opener (cleveland.com) — Canton football fans just saw McKinley open its season with a 33-0 home shutout of Warren Harding, powered by big plays on offense, defense, and special teams. Multiple Bulldogs backs scored on the ground, the passing game clicked, and a 100-yard interception return sealed a dominant night at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
