1. 'A welcomed change.' New owners giving Moon Mist Motel a major makeover (cantonrep.com) — A pair of brothers from the Canton area have bought the long-troubled Moon Mist Motel in Canton Township and are overhauling it into longer-stay housing called Lincoln Way Stay. With full interior renovations, higher weekly rates, and infrastructure upgrades planned over about eight months, local officials hope the project will improve the busy Lincoln Street corridor's appearance and reputation.
2. 'Take Me Home': Stark County program helps police reunite missing loved ones with families (jordanmiller.news) — Canton families now have a powerful tool to help protect loved ones with autism, dementia, or communication challenges through the Take Me Home registration program run by Canton Police. By adding photos, descriptions, and key behavioral details to a secure database used by Stark County officers, caregivers can help shorten searches and guide safer police responses if someone wanders or goes missing.
3. Visit Canton launches digital bingo game with a free pie for those who finish early (cantonrep.com) — Visit Canton is inviting residents to play a free "Explore Stark Bingo" game this fall, checking in at attractions, restaurants, and events across Stark County for prizes. Running Sept. 15 to Nov. 15, the Autumn Adventures edition highlights more than 130 fall experiences, and the first 50 people to complete a digital bingo card earn a free Hartville Kitchen pie.
4. Stark County Job & Family Services has new web address (centredaily.com) — If you rely on Stark County Job & Family Services from Canton or nearby, you'll now need to visit starkcountyjfs.gov for official information and benefits. The updated web address is meant to clearly signal an official government site and remains the central hub for public assistance, child support, workforce help, and other county resources.
