• Civic Center Improvements Now in Phase 2 (whbc.com) — Construction is in full swing on phase two of upgrades at Canton's Memorial Civic Center, adding new restrooms on the north side and eventually reworking facilities on the south. City Council approved $2.4 million for this round, which also includes turning the former Arby's property into a large parking lot, part of a broader $40 million long-term needs plan.
• Local haunted attraction named one of America's best (fox8.com) — Canton's Factory of Terror has been named one of America's top haunted attractions for value, and its 2026 season is already underway through November 13. The long-running local haunt offers over a mile of scares, 100-plus live actors, and elaborate special effects, putting Canton alongside major destinations in Michigan, California, and Pennsylvania for Halloween thrill-seekers.
• Canton brothers honored with childhood award from Akron Children's (kentucky.com) — Two Canton brothers, CJ and Cree McAfee, have been honored by Akron Children's Hospital for raising about $22,000 through their annual lemonade stand to help Stark County children with cancer. Their "More childhood, please" Young Leader Award recognizes how local kids are making a real difference for families across the 33 Ohio counties the hospital serves.
