Today's riddle: What is the longest word in the dictionary? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Cincinnati Shakespeare Company to expand with new theater (citybeat.com) — Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is planning a $25 million, 19,000-square-foot expansion that will add a highly flexible 150-seat studio theater and new education and community spaces to its existing campus. The project, expected to break ground next spring and open for the 2028–29 season, would boost the number of annual productions and deepen the company's role in Greater Cincinnati's arts and tourism scene.
2. Fight erupts outside Paycor Stadium after high school football game (fox19.com) — A violent group fight outside downtown Cincinnati's Paycor Stadium after Thursday's Princeton–Moeller high school football game left one person motionless on the ground and has sparked a Hamilton County Sheriff's Office investigation. With deputies, Cincinnati police, and private security already on site, Princeton City Schools now vows to identify anyone involved and ban them from future home athletic events while authorities work to confirm who was responsible.
3. Staffing firm files breach of contract suit against defunct Cincinnati startup 80 Acres (local12.com) — A Symmes Township staffing firm is suing defunct indoor-farming startup 80 Acres, a Greater Cincinnati company, alleging nearly $700,000 in unpaid invoices for work done since April. The case, filed in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court, seeks payment plus interest and fees, and 80 Acres now has a limited window to formally respond to the complaint.
4. Nearly 4,000 refugees in Tri-State could soon be at risk of deportation (local12.com) — Thousands of Ukrainian refugees living in the Tri-State, including many in Cincinnati, could face arrest and deportation within months after federal Temporary Protected Status for Ukraine was allowed to lapse. Local Ukrainians and immigration advocates are anxiously awaiting a final Homeland Security decision, which will determine whether families can stay, seek another country, or risk returning to a war zone.
5. Cincinnati mother grieves son's sudden death from shooting 13 years earlier (fox19.com) — A Cincinnati mother is mourning her son, who died this week from complications tied to a 2013 shooting inside a Northside barbershop. After years of infections and amputations, Philip Smith's death may prompt the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office to consider upgrading charges against the already-convicted shooter, a decision the office says it will address soon.
