• Indictment against ex-Cincinnati councilman P.G. Sittenfeld dismissed (local12.com) — A federal judge has formally dismissed, with prejudice, the indictment against former Cincinnati City Councilman P.G. Sittenfeld, closing a long-running corruption case. Following a presidential pardon and a series of higher-court rulings, the court also ordered that the $40,000 fine and $200 special assessment he previously paid be returned, ending the matter in the Southern District of Ohio.
• Mount St. Joseph University in Delhi marks 100 years of nursing education (local12.com) — Mount St. Joseph University in Delhi, just outside Cincinnati, is celebrating 100 years of nursing education, highlighting how its program has grown with medical advances while emphasizing compassionate, ethical patient care. With smaller class sizes, hands-on learning and degrees from bachelor's to doctoral levels, the school continues to train nurses who will serve hospitals and clinics across Greater Cincinnati and beyond.
• Ohio high school football official has leg amputated following injury during game (cleveland.com) — A longtime high school football official was seriously injured during an Aug. 14 scrimmage at Withrow High School in Cincinnati and later had his right leg amputated above the knee. He credits community support, including a GoFundMe, with helping him focus on rehab and says he's determined to return to officiating despite the life-changing injury.
