Police announce overnight weekend road closures around University of Cincinnati (wlwt.com) — If you drive near the University of Cincinnati this weekend, expect overnight closures on Calhoun and McMillan between Vine and Clifton from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., Friday night through early Monday. Police say game-day traffic for UC's 3:30 p.m. football matchup won't be affected, and residents with permits plus nearby employees will still be allowed into the closed area.
2. Several Cincinnati roads to close for 4 days; here's what drivers need to know (local12.com) — Several key Cincinnati streets and sidewalks, including parts of William Howard Taft Road, Collins Avenue, and Riverside Drive, are closed from Friday afternoon through Monday afternoon, with security checkpoints for residents. Drivers are urged to use Torrence Parkway, Madison Road, and Woodburn Avenue as detours, and residents, delivery trucks, and services can still enter through designated checkpoints after allowing extra travel time.
3. What does Boston College think of Cincinnati Bearcats ahead of opener? (cincinnati.com) — UC fans in Cincinnati can look ahead to Saturday's home opener at Nippert Stadium, where the Bearcats host Boston College in their first matchup under coach Scott Satterfield against Bill O'Brien. Coaches and players on both sides highlight new transfers, key playmakers, and the uncertainty of a portal-fueled Week 1 showdown.
4. Laura V. Farber is the new American Bar Association president-elect (legalnews.com) — Cincinnati attorney Barbara J. Howard is set to lead the American Bar Association from August 2026 to August 2027, giving the city a prominent voice in the national legal community. She'll work alongside newly named president-elect Laura V. Farber, a California trial lawyer with a long record of ABA and civic leadership, as they focus on access to justice and the rule of law.
