Hundreds pack Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky for BLINK night two, drone shows painting the Ohio River sky (wcpo.com) — BLINK is lighting up downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky this weekend, with massive crowds filling The Banks, Over-the-Rhine and Covington for drone shows and illuminated art. Two more nights remain, giving locals a chance to explore walkable light installations, riverfront drone displays and new entertainment zones drawing visitors from around the world into Cincinnati's core neighborhoods.
   

2. Things to do in Cincinnati this week, Oct. 12-18 (cincinnati.com) — Your week in and around Cincinnati is packed with fall fun, from FC Cincinnati home matches and Kings Island Halloween thrills to pumpkin festivals, haunted houses and family-friendly zoo events. You'll also find concerts, art exhibits, farmers markets and charity runs spread across downtown, nearby suburbs and Northern Kentucky, giving Cincinnatians plenty of options to plan each day.
   

3. Tri-State organizations mobilize to help Hurricane Isaias victims (fox19.com) — Cincinnati-based Matthew 25 Ministries and Hoxworth Blood Center are mobilizing today to support communities hit by Hurricane Isaias, and they're asking local residents to step up. Relief teams are heading to the Florida Panhandle, while Hoxworth urges Cincinnati donors to give blood so our region can backfill potential shortages in the storm zone. Both groups say volunteers and financial contributions are still urgently needed.
   

4. Why Are More People Under 55 Having Strokes? New Research Points to Surprising Risk Factors (inc.com) — New research based in the greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region finds stroke rates are rising among adults ages 20 to 54, even as they decline in older people. University of Cincinnati scientists analyzed 27 years of local data, highlighting changing risk factors that could matter for younger residents across the metro area.
   

5. First responders recover body of missing 10-year-old boy from pond in Warren County (wlwt.com) — First responders in Hamilton Township, Warren County, recovered the body of a missing 10-year-old autistic boy from a neighborhood pond Saturday afternoon. Authorities say no foul play is suspected, but note this case follows several similar drownings in the Greater Cincinnati area that have already prompted new Ohio and Kentucky alert laws for missing children with autism.
