The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Cincinnati.

Hello, neighbors! It's me again, Sean Peek, your host of the Cincinnati Daily.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny and quite cold. High: 23 Low: 15.

Here are the top three stories today in Cincinnati:

  1. Thanks to the help from the community, a Cincinnati mother who was living in a van with her four kids is now living in a temporary housing shelter. Jamie Coleman previously was a recipient of a one-year rapid re-housing program, however, the term ended in August. After hitting dead end after dead end, Coleman and her four kids, all CPS students ages 5-17, found housing through the Salvation Army while they look for a permanent place. (WLWT Cincinnati)
  2. Due to rising COVID-19 cases and testing demands, Cincinnati is expanding the number of testing sites available. Six new sites offering free testing have opened around the area, including locations at African American Chamber of Commerce, New Prospect Baptist Church, and Su Casa Hispanic Ministry/Santa Maria. According to the Cincinnati Health Department COVID-19 dashboard, the seven-day cumulative new cases is 1,521 cases per 100,000 people which is classified as a high transmission rate. (WLWT Cincinnati)
  3. Cincy Winter Beerfest has been rescheduled to April 1-2 out of caution over to the rise of COVID-19 cases. The 14th annual two-night beer extravaganza, which was originally scheduled for Feb. 11-12 at the Duke Energy Convention Center, will feature over 400 local and regional craft beers from 130 breweries. Tickets purchased for the original date will be honored at the rescheduled event. (Cincinnati CityBeat)
