The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Cincinnati.

Happy Tuesday, Cincinnati! Here's everything worth knowing around town today.

First, today's weather:

Partly sunny and not as cold. High: 41 Low: 36.

Here are the top three stories today in Cincinnati:

  1. Asian Food Week is returning to Cincinnati at the end of January, due to its popularity. The Asian American Cultural Association of Cincinnati is organizing the event, and say the goal of the week is to support "local Asian businesses in light of the continued challenges with COVID-19 and staffing shortage in the restaurant industry." During the event, participating restaurants around the Greater Cincinnati area will offer either a $20 or $30 three-course prix fixe meal, and/or a secret menu item. (Cincinnati CityBeat)
  2. The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati (TCT) will be hitting the stage with Roald Dahl's Matilda this February. Performances will take place from Feb. 5-14, including a sensory-friendly performance which is scheduled for Feb. 9 for individuals on the autism spectrum, as well as those with other special needs who may benefit from such a performance. Matilda The Musical Jr. will be held at the Taft Theatre, located at 5th and Sycamore streets in downtown Cincinnati. (cincinnatirefined.com)
  3. The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden has named its month-old little blue penguin "Rose," as a tribute to the late Betty White on what would have been her 100th birthday. Rose is healthy and on track to move to the little blue penguin habitat soon, according to bird team head keeper Cody Sowers. Penguin Days at the zoo, which offers reduced admission and fun events, run now through March 11. (WXIX)

Doing a "Dry January" or just looking for a flavorful alternative to regular cocktails? Here's a suggestion: try a non-alcoholic drink from our partners at Betera. Created by an award-winning chef from natural botanicals, Betera's drinks come in 3 flavors — Ginger-Orange, Elderflower-Lime and Rhubarb-Hibiscus. We tried Ginger-Orange, and it was excellent — lightly effervescent, floral with a hint of bitterness and the sippability of a cocktail.

Betera is offering readers of the Daily a 15% discount on their first order: use PATCH15 at checkout. Highly recommended — you can try Betera here.
