Here are the top three stories in Cincinnati today:
- Cincinnati police took 37-year-old Londell Swanigan into custody for allegedly robbing U.S. Bank at 925 West 8th Street Monday morning. Police said the suspect entered the bank and gave a note to the teller demanding money. After taking the money, Swanigan fled the scene on foot and was later picked up by responding officers. - Cincinnati ranked third behind Pittsburgh and Minneapolis as the best location for first-time homebuyers, said Bankrate.com. In their latest study, the company used an index of factors including housing affordability, employment opportunities, crime rates, and public health to determine the best and worst metro areas for buying a first home. Cincinnati ranked ahead of Kansas City, Missouri, and Buffalo, New York. (The Cincinnati Enquirer)
- BLINK organizers announced that the BLINK Parade will return this year on Oct. 13. The theme will be "Together: a constellation of shared cultures and unique identities; we illuminate joy through creative expression." Marie Krulewitch-Browne, founding executive and artistic director of BLINK, said, "In a time when there are so many things that can divide us, we want to focus on the parade as a coming back together after the pandemic and a way of bridging those divides with joy and celebration."(WLWT Cincinnati)
