- The Cincinnati Bengals are seeking a sports-betting proprietor license in Ohio. The professional football team is one of eight companies seeking a proprietor license since Jun. 15 when state officials made 85 licenses available in three categories: online betting, retail sportsbooks, and kiosk betting for bars and restaurants. Jessica Franks, spokeswoman for the Ohio Casino Control Commission said, "The deadline is just for those folks who want to be guaranteed to be considered for starting on Jan. 1." (WCPO 9 Cincinnati)
- Inspired Fashion, one of Covington's newest women's fashion boutiques, has been going strong for almost a year. The boutique, located at 827 Madison Ave, is the new physical location of the online store. - A SWAT standoff with two inmates on the run came to a deadly close at the Baymont Inn in Mason early Tuesday. 27-year-old Thomas Cromwell was killed, said the Warren County Coroner's Office, who assisted the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office in the case. Warren County Prosecutor Dave Fornshell said an officer shot and killed Cromwell to save the life of a hostage at the Inn. (WKRC TV Cincinnati)
