Here are the top three stories today in Cincinnati:
- The Cincinnati Bengals held off the Las Vegas Raiders during a last-minute drive to secure their first playoff victory in 31 years. Joe Burrow led the Cincinnati offense to an impressive victory 26-19, which will see Cincinnati advance in the NFL playoffs for the first time since 1991. Despite a dominant offense, there was a controversial touchdown when a referee blew the whistle before the play was dead. (CBS Sports)
- On a Saturday meeting, the Cincinnati Public School board met to discuss the next steps for students after they switched to remote learning. The current plan is in place with has students remote learning from January 12th to January 24th. The school board is confident that students will return to in-person classes on the 24th as planned. - Data from a Friday report presented a grim picture of Cincinnati COVID-19 data. In the region's 40 hospitals, currently, 188 patients are in ICU beds and 150 are on ventilators. Public health officials are hoping that this extreme picture is the peak of the current surge. (Cincinnati.com)
