🌱 Burrow Hunger Relief Fund Reaches $1.3M + 12-Year-Old Missing

Here are the top three stories today in Cincinnati:

  1. Thanks to the efforts of the Who Dey Nation, the Joe Burrow Hunger Relief Fund has reached a staggering $1.3 million. Dedicated Bengals fans have made donations of all sizes to the fund, often giving $9 for Burrow's jersey number or $31 for the number of years it had been since the team had won a playoff game. Those contributions have been further supported by the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), which has matched multiple small donations to create an endowment of over $50,000. (meigsindypress.com)
  2. The Cincinnati City Council is expected to declare gun violence a public health crisis during Tuesday's meeting. Councilmember Meeka Owens introduced the resolution, which is supported by all nine council members. Though overall crime in Cincinnati is at a 10-year low, shootings are still above pre-pandemic levels, with 84 gun-related homicides in the past year.(WVXU)
  3. Cincinnati police are searching for a 12-year-old girl who went missing on Thursday night. Jayona Stenson went missing from the Avondale neighborhood after an argument with her mother; she is believed to be traveling on foot and her destination is unknown.
