Here are the top three stories in Cincinnati today:
- The Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is vacating the Oak Building in Avondale by the end of June. The building located at 619 Oak Street will be demolished, according to officials. The 150 employees will be moved to nearby locations. (The Cincinnati Enquirer)
- The tragic shooting in Uvalde, Texas has reignited conversations in school districts throughout the Greater Cincinnati area about school safety and security. Superintendent of Dohn Community High School Ramone Davenport stated that their schools have metal detectors and extra security. Davenport added, "Some of these districts, they ignore it and think that it can't happen to them." (WLWT Cincinnati)
- The Street Stage Project, featuring over a dozen local artists, opened up in downtown Cincinnati yesterday. The 20-week summer project, powered by ArtsWave and produced by CMA and 3CDC, will execute over 800 performances at popular spots downtown. "ArtsWave is pleased to enliven the neighborhoods of Downtown and OTR through the Street Stage Project, where you will experience first-hand that live arts are back and ready to greet and connect us all," said Alecia Kintner, president and CEO of ArtsWave.
