Here are the top three stories in Cincinnati today:
- A wrong-way head-on collision on I-71 South in Cincinnati left one man dead and another injured. Cincinnati police reported that 32-year old Joe Brantley was driving northbound on I-71 when he crashed into another car driven by 58-year old Marian Shelton. Shelton's injuries were non-life-threatening; however, Brantley succumbed to his injuries, according to officials. (WCPO 9 Cincinnati)
- Cincinnati police shot and killed a man in the early hours of Monday morning at 18th and Garrard streets. The incident happened when members of the Cincinnati Police Department's fugitive apprehension squad and officers from the Covington Police Department went to speak to the mother of a man wanted for homicide. The suspect, 20-year old Ali Coulter, came out of the back door running at officers with a loaded revolver. (WLWT Cincinnati)
- Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens announced that Fiona the hippo is going to be a big sister. Fiona's mother, 23-year old, Bibi, is due to give birth to another baby hippo this summer. Zoo officials said this came as a surprise since Bibi was on birth control. (WCPO 9 Cincinnati)
