Here are the top three stories in Cincinnati today:
- A man was arrested after multiple police agencies and a SWAT team responded to a report of gunshots being fired on the 800 block of Grand Avenue in Fort Thomas, 10 minutes from downtown Cincy, on Monday. While investigating the scene, Fort Thomas officers heard more gunshots and saw dirt fly up from the ground near where officers were standing, said Fort Thomas Police Chief Casey Kilgore. After the Kenton County Regional SWAT was called to the scene and attempts to communicate with the person went unanswered, the team entered the home and took 36-year-old Andrew Hutchinson into custody at about 10:00 p.m. (WCPO 9 News)
- Crossroads Church opened four of its Cincinnati locations for people in need of power following Monday's storms. The church's West Side, Oakley, East Side, and Florence buildings were opened for "anyone who wants to sit in the air conditioning, grab a soda, charge devices, or get some work done." As of yesterday morning, Duke Energy reported that 85,000 customers still do not have power. (WLWT Cincinnati)
- Two professional electricians were taken to the hospital by medics after they were shocked by electricity downtown. Rescuers were called to a parking garage off of Freedom Way yesterday. The victims were working on a panel in the garage when they were shocked. (Local 12)
