Cincinnati And Hamilton County Offers Mail-Only Ohio's Primary Election

You should request a mail-in ballot from your county Board of Elections and mail the completed ballot in with a postmark of April 28.

Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, in-person voting in the primary election scheduled for March 17, 2020, was rescheduled without much notice. It was decided that the June in-person voting date recommended by the Governor last month is not wise due to the ongoing pandemic and will no longer happen. The Ohio Secretary of State now has new guidelines for the election, as approved by the Ohio General Assembly. If you haven't voted in the primary yet but plan to, here's some important information:

  • If you already voted (by mail-in ballot or early-voting in person) for the March 17 primary, you do not need to vote again.
  • Voters who are able to vote by mail and have not yet voted should do so. You should request a mail-in ballot from your county Board of Elections and mail the completed ballot in with a postmark of April 28 at the latest.
  • In-person voting will take place Tuesday, April 28, but only for a very few voters (disabled voters who must vote in person or those without a home mailing address) and at very limited locations. Contact your local Board of Elections for more details.

Hamilton County residents who are registered voters should request a mail-in ballot from the Hamilton County Board of Elections. Requests must be received by April 25. There are several ways to get a mail-in ballot:
