Cincinnati Public School Board Adopts Anti-Racism Policy

The Cincinnati Public School Board voted unanimously to adopt an anti-racism policy at their meeting Wednesday night.

Board Policy 2256 — Anti-Racism Policy states that the district rejects all forms of racism as destructive to the district's mission, vision, values and goals.

The policy expresses the district will embrace racial diversity and actively eliminate practices that perpetrate racial disparity among students.

The board committed to annual self-evaluation, training and professional development in order to build a culture of inclusion which is free of racism.

The policy also detailed directives that will be put into place to dismantle the individual and systemic racism that exists within the district.

The CPS Anti-Racism Vision statement will be posted in all district buildings.

There will be an ongoing school site committee per building monitoring anti-racism efforts and accountability.
