Cincinnati Public Schools Families: Share Your Plans For The Fall

The Board of Education voted to move forward with a Blended Learning Model for the 2020–21 school year. This means that every child will be in class at least 2 days each week, and alternate a third day every other week.

For example, a student would be in class on week one on Monday and Tuesday, and do remote learning on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The following week, the same student would be in class Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and do remote learning on Thursday and Friday.

The two primary reasons this model was chosen were: (1) it is the only option that allows students to stay within their school and follow CDC recommended 6-feet social distancing, and (2) we know in-person learning is important for academic success and social/emotional support, and this model allows for 5-days of in-person time over two weeks.

It’s important to know that the days not in class are still remote learning school days. We heard parent feedback about the state closure in the spring, and will be making changes to our fall plans to create consistency and clear expectations for days students are not in the classroom. This will include detailed packets that align to the curriculum for those days.
