Here are the top three stories in Cincinnati today:

  1. Employees at the downtown Vine Street Starbucks filed Monday for a "union representation election" with the National Labor Relations Board. The Cincinnati Starbucks is the first in the city to seek unionization. According to the Chicago and Midwest Regional Joint Board of Workers United, an "overwhelming majority" of workers signed union authorization cards, the first step towards unionization. 2. Cincinnati police are looking for Monica Monique Wilcox, a mother who fled with her eight children following an investigation into child endangerment allegations. Cincinnati police report that investigators with Hamilton County Jobs and Family Services decided to invoke an emergency order to remove Wilcox's eight children from the home for their safety. Wilcox is wanted for interference with custody. (WCPO 9 Cincinnati)
  3. Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval will mark 100 days in office this Friday. During the city's weekly council meeting Pureval stated that his overwhelming mandate was to chart a new future for Cincinnati.
