Here are the top stories today in Cincinnati:
- An outside review of Cincinnati's 911 call system that was spurred by a teenager's death three years ago found many improvements have been made, but management and morale remain problems that continue to hurt employee retention. The report was part of a $6 million wrongful death lawsuit settlement reached in April by the city and the family of 16-year-old Kyle Plush, who died in April 2018. (The Courier)
- Cincinnati Police have released surveillance footage they say captures the driver responsible for a hit-and-run in the West End. Mical Landrum was riding his motorcycle Sept. 27 when a driver knocked him into the intersection of Ezzard Charles Drive and Winchell Avenue before running away from the scene. The 35-year-old is still fighting for his life as police search for the driver. (WCPO)
- Six Cincinnati startups among finalists for 2021 FinTech Frontier pitch competition. The companies will compete Oct. 28 for $75,000 in cash prizes. (Cincinnati Business Courier)
- Walnut Hills High School was on lockdown for 30 minutes on Thursday, Oct. 21 after two males were shot in a nearby neighborhood. (WCPO)
- Starting this weekend, you'll have to dial 10 digits to make local calls in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. (WLWT Cincinnati)
