Mitchell outlined a plan that builds on our strong foundation of diverse schools by better aligning school boundaries to neighborhood boundaries and improving the instructional experience for students by reducing the size of some of our most crowded neighborhood schools. The plan would also expand our regional footprint by exploring expansion or purchase of new school facilities and programs that diversify our programmatic choices for students and families. Finally the plan would elevate CPS as a District of Destination with more room for career-focused learning opportunities.
The Board plans to consider the Superintendent's presentation at its scheduled work session in January.
