Here are the top three stories in Cincinnati today:
- Crosstown Packout, a community event that took place across the greater Cincinnati area, helped pack 190,000 meals for Ukrainian refugees. This high school project had 14 local schools participate, and they even beat their goal of having 150,000 meals packed to send over to Ukraine. (WLWT Cincinnati)
- An early morning weekend crash sent five people to the hospital. At 2:55 a.m. on Saturday morning, there was a two-vehicle accident at 1400 W. 8th St. that resulted in a fire. According to reports, four out of the five victims are in critical condition. (WLWT Cincinnati)
- Beginning in January 2023, it will be illegal to plant Callery pear trees in the state of Ohio. Once touted as a decorative and easy-to-care-for tree, the Callery has recently been added to the invasive species list because its different cultivars can cross-pollinate and generate seeds and spread rapidly. "They are crowding out everything … [and] upsetting our ecosystems," said Joe Boggs, Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University Extension in Hamilton County. (FOX 19)
