🌱 DeWine And Beshear Request $2B Grant For Bridge + Hole Closes Roads

Here are the top three stories in Cincinnati today:

  1. A hole approximately 20 feet deep caused Cincinnati officials to partially block off the road at East 8th and Walnut streets. The hole opened on Tuesday afternoon. The situation has not impacted streetcar operations. (WLWT Cincinnati)
  2. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear submitted an application requesting almost $2 billion in federal funding through the Multimodal Projects Discretionary Grant for improvements to the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor. Governor DeWine said that they are optimistic that the federal government will see the importance of the project for the country's economy and security. The funds will cover the costs for a new companion bridge to be built next to the existing Brent Spence Bridge. (WDTN.com)
  3. Suspected gunman Josiah Hassell turned himself into Cincinnati police Monday evening. The 26-year-old man is accused of shooting and killing twenty-four-year-old Jamontea Brown outside of the Walmart Superstore on Ferguson Road in November. Hassell was indicted for murder on one count of aggravated murder, two counts of murder, and two counts of felonious assault. (WLWT Cincinnati)
