The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Cincinnati.
Hello again, everybody! It's me, Carla Varner, your host of the Cincinnati Daily. Let's get this Tuesday started off right, with a quick review of the most important things going on around town.
First, today's weather:
Partly sunny and humid. High: 89 Low: 71.
Here are the top three stories today in Cincinnati:
- Officer Kelly Drach is the second Cincinnati police officer suspended for using a racial slur while on duty. In an internal investigations report, Officer Drach admitted to shouting a slur in November 2021 at the Real Time Crime Center. In one of the complaints, a fellow officer said she heard Drach yelling a racial slur during a call with a telemarketer. (WLWT Cincinnati)
- A full-scale active shooter training session using simulated gunfire took place at Middletown High School and middle school campuses yesterday without students on campus. The training session was in response to the school shooting at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas in May where 19 children and two adults were killed. Middletown Schools Superintendent Marlon Styles Junior said that the staff has been researching security upgrades to its school campuses. (Fox 19 News)
- Following a stormy yesterday, the National Weather Service predicts clear skies until Thursday, when showers are expected to return with the possibility of another thunderstorm throughout the afternoon and evening.
