🌱 Cincinnati Gas Drops 14 Cents + $12.5M Approved For Rent Relief

Hello and happy Tuesday! I'm back in your inbox this morning to walk you through everything you need to know about what's happening locally. I'll get right to it.


First, today's weather:

Showers and a heavier t-storm. High: 78 Low: 70.


Here are the top three stories in Cincinnati today:

  1. Gas prices in Cincinnati decreased 14 cents to $4.47 per gallon on Monday, said GasBuddy. Similarly, prices went down 16.7 cents in the last week to $4.34 per gallon in Southeast Indiana. Northern Kentucky saw prices plummet to $4.29 per gallon, down 45.6 cents in a week and 69.6 cents in a month. (WKRC TV Cincinnati)
  2. The Hamilton County Coroner's Office reported that 58-year-old Ali Ahmed Abdu, whose car flipped over a guardrail on I-75 on Jun. 21, has died. The Cincinnati police said that Abdu was driving a Volvo XC90 southbound on I-75 and struck a Lexus ES which was also headed south on I-75. The impact flipped Abdu's car over a guardrail causing it to land upright on Harrison Avenue. (FOX19)
  3. Hamilton County Commissioners approved an estimated $12.5 million awarded by the state for rent and utility relief. The county pushed out more than $35 million in rent and utility relief since the start of the pandemic, helping about 11,000 families. The funds are for county residents who lost income as a result of COVID-19. (WCPO 9 Cincinnati)
