🌱 Gas Prices Hit New High At $4.79 + Ambitious Green Cincinnati Plan

Hello, everybody! I'm here with your Thursday edition of the Cincinnati Daily, filled with all the community news you need to know right now. Without further ado...


First, today's weather:

A couple of morning showers. High: 73 Low: 53.


Here are the top three stories today in Cincinnati:

  1. Cincinnati gas prices have gone up another 30 cents to hit another record high of $4.79, with some stations in the city as high as $4.99. This is the highest price the Tri-State has ever seen. According to AAA, gas prices in March of 202- were $2.32. (WCPO 9 Cincinnati)
  2. Cincinnati officials said that the next Green Cincinnati plan will be more ambitious than ever. Almost 300 people showed up for Tuesday's kickoff to renew the plan. Sustainability Director Ollie Kroner said that for 2023, the city will establish carbon neutrality goals by 2050 with a near-term 50 percent reduction by 2030. (WVXU)
  3. Elected officials in the Greater Cincinnati area will hold a summit on Jun. 11 in Price Hill to discuss affordable housing solutions. Listen to Cincinnati City Council member Reggie Harris, Cincinnati NAACP Housing Committee Chair Alexandria Barnes-Porter, and LISC of Greater Cincinnati Executive Director Kristen Baker as they join Cincinnati Edition to discuss possible answers to the growing problem of home and rental price increases and scarcity of affordable housing.
