Here are the top stories today in Cincinnati:

  1. With crude oil prices reaching new highs ($85 a barrel this week), local gas prices are making another unusual autumn jump. Many Cincinnati-area stations raised their price to $3.35 a gallon. According to the Energy Information Institute, this is the highest average gas price in Southwest Ohio since August 2014. (WCPO)
  2. Since Oct. 1, Cincinnati Animal CARE has taken in 868 animals. The facility doesn't have space for all the animals taken in, so you can name your price to adopt one now through Sunday, Nov. 7. The no-kill shelter is also allowing walkthroughs during this time. (WKRC TV Cincinnati)
  3. After holding its first children's vaccine clinic on Wednesday, nearly 1,500 children ages 5 to 11 years old have been scheduled to receive the Pfizer COVID vaccine at Cincinnati Children's locations now through Nov. 27. (WVXU)
  4. After dominating the Cincinnati City Council election, Democrats say they're ready to get started for real after months of building relationships on the campaign trail and creating their vision for the city. (WKRC TV Cincinnati)
  5. Animatronic dinosaurs are coming to Cincinnati, with visitors getting an up-close look at some of the largest creatures that have ever roamed the earth. (WLWT Cincinnati)
