Infant Found Dead After Being Left In Hot Car In Mason

The girl was left in a car parked at the Procter & Gamble offices outside Cincinnati.

MASON, OH — A mother made a frantic 911 call, but she knew it was too late. When the dispatcher instructed her to perform CPR on her daughter, the mother said her baby girl was already dead.

Now, the Mason police department is investigating the incident.

An Ohio coroner says preliminary findings indicate the mother had gone to work in a nearby office building, leaving the girl in the car. She apparently died from the heat. (For more local news, subscribe to the Cincinnati Patch and receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

The mother found the girl motionless around 5 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of Procter & Gamble offices in the southwest Ohio city of Mason. The mother is a Procter & Gamble employee but hasn't been identified.

The Warren County prosecutor said Thursday that any discussion of criminal charges against the mother would be premature until Mason police complete their investigation.
