Here are the top three stories in Cincinnati today:
- Mortar Cincinnati seeks to provide historically marginalized entrepreneurs with the resources they need to open and operate small businesses. Its main initiative is a 15-week course meant to connect entrepreneurs with partners who can help them understand basic business practices. The focus of the course is to reduce the anxiety and uncertainty that surrounds starting your own business for the first time. (WXIX)
- Due to record-setting rainfalls, a flood warning is in effect across the Cincinnati area. The area saw over two inches of rainfall that will drain off into the nearby Ohio River and surrounding drainage basins. It will take a fifty feet rise for the Ohio River to enter into the action stage with the river likely cresting at 48.3 feet on Tuesday. (WLWT Cincinnati)
- Amid rising inflation, the nonprofit Last Mile Food Rescue is helping to reduce food insecurity throughout the Cincinnati area. In their first year of operation, the nonprofit distributed 1.7 million pounds of food that were originally destined to be thrown away. The nonprofit's volunteers rescue food from participating partners and deliver it straight to those who need it. (WLWT Cincinnati)
