Hi all. It's me, Carla Varner, your host of the Daily. Keep reading for the most important things happening these days in town.
First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories in and around Cincinnati today:
- At the end of 2021, more than 5,800 healthcare positions in Cincinnati were open, the most job vacancies the city has had in 15 years. The Health Collaborative, the region's joint organization of hospital systems, released the results of its annual Employee Workforce Survey on Monday acknowledging that the pandemic played a role in the increase in vacancies, but that it was not the sole reason. "Vacancies have been trending upward for quite some time, and COVID-19 accelerated that rate to the highest levels we've seen in years," said Health Collaborative senior manager of business intelligence Jason Bubenhofer. (The Cincinnati Enquirer)
- Six Greater Cincinnati developers applied for Ohio's new transformational mixed-use development tax credits, a program that provides tax credits to help finance new construction or renovation of vacant buildings. The projects must be a combination of retail, office, residential, and other uses and are expected to catalyze development and the economies in their areas. The Ohio Department of Development said the credits will be awarded in early 2023. (Local 12 News)
- Around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, a vehicle hit a 67-year-old pedestrian at the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Home Street, about 20 minutes from Cincy, and then left the scene, said the Erlanger Police Department. Two nurses found the victim in a disoriented state, lying in the middle of the crosswalk. The incident is being investigated by the Erlanger police. (FOX19)
