Ms. Angenita (Angie) Brown named Chief of Staff

Union Institute & University has named Ms. Angenita (Angie) Brown as Chief of Staff for the President’s Office. Ms. Brown will continue in her role as Special Assistant to the President for Community Engagement.
As Chief of Staff, Ms. Brown will manage daily university system communications and government relations for the Office of the President. She also provides oversight and coordination of key working groups focused on presidential priorities. The Chief of Staff position includes membership on the President’s Cabinet.
“Ms. Brown brings an extensive background in executive and administrative operations. Her strong communication skills and commitment to Union’s values in social justice make her the perfect addition to the team,” Dr. Karen Schuster Webb, President of Union Institute & University, said.

Ms. Brown is a two-time Union alumna with a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership degree and a Ph.D. candidate in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Educational Studies.

Prior to joining UI&U, Ms. Brown served as a District Administrator. She gained extensive experience in administrative operations, also holding positions as Director of Community Engagement and Executive Director of Student and Academic Affairs. Ms. Brown also served as the interface with District Superintendents and Executive Leadership.
Ms. Brown earned her bachelor’s degree from Central State University and Nursing degree from Spaulding University.
