  1. Cincinnati City Hall says it's hoping to rebuild public trust with its recently-launched of Ethics and Good Government. According to the City, this office's job is "to educate and train elected officials and all city staff on ethics-related issues," including things like conflicts of interest, campaign contribution matters, and suspected cases of impropriety. The three-person is led by Christopher Liu, a longtime attorney in the city's Law Department. Learn more about Cincinnati's ethics office here. (Spectrum News 1)
  2. For the first time since 2019, Cincinnati Walks for Kids returned to the Queen City on Saturday, May 14. The annual fundraiser was held at the Medical Campus of Cincinnati Children's Hospital every year since 2005, until the pandemic hit. This weekend's event started off walk through Avondale According to event organizers, Walks for Kids gives patients a chance "to reunite with their care teams, be with other families facing similar challenges, and celebrate the triumphs and accomplishments they've had along their medical journey." 3. For many members of the Class of 2020, graduating in the early days of COVID-19 amid pandemic-related lockdowns put a damper on this exciting milestone. This weekend, the University of Dayton decided to give its 2020 grads the in-person ceremony they missed out on, two years later. One graduate who has been working fully remotely since graduation told Spectrum News that Saturday's ceremony felt like a reunion from her time in college during a pandemic. "I am thrilled just to have the chance to see and be on campus with everyone and kind of take that step back in time," said Chloe Voelker. (Spectrum News 1)
