- A Cincinnati police officer is under investigation for allegedly shelving rape DNA test results, a Hamilton County prosecutor says. Officer Christopher Schroder, who served in the Personal Crimes Unit from July 2007 until he was transferred in July 2021, has been accused of shelving the test results for years, potentially impacting hundreds of cases. The issue came to light when police conducted an audit after a change in leadership at the department's Criminal Investigations Section. (WXIX)
- Authorities are searching for two missing Cincinnati girls who were last seen on Oct. 7. leaving a group home facility on Western Hills Avenue. The Cincinnati Police Department says Maekenzye Mallicoat and Miya Riggs left on foot in an unknown direction and have not returned. Both girls are believed to be in the company of one another. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Williams at 513-263-8300.(WLWT Cincinnati)
- GE has announced a five-year, $5 million investment in Cincinnati to increase the diversity of young people pursuing engineering through its Next Engineers college-readiness program, which focuses on underrepresented students in grades eight to 12 to provide exposure to engineering, careers, and potentially award scholarships. - Although fuel prices typically drop this time of year, Cincinnati gas stations have hiked up their per-gallon rates to $3.29, the highest prices since August 2014, in response to climbing oil prices. (WCPO)
