Ohio Connections Academy Recognizes Mason Student
Star Student Award recognizes students for achievement in and out of the virtual classroom
Lillian Lippeatt of Mason was recently named one of Ohio Connections Academy’s (OCA) Star Students of the Month for April in recognition of her achievements and leadership in the virtual classroom.
Lillian, a freshman at the statewide online public charter school, was nominated by her teacher Mrs. Speicher because of her determination to succeed in the virtual classroom despite a very busy schedule as a competitive gymnast. As a Star Student, Lillian will be presented a certificate recognizing her achievement and be profiled in Ohio Connections Academy’s student newsletter and on the school’s website.
Lillian enrolled in Ohio Connections Academy in 2014 as she needed a school that would offer her the flexibility to work around her gymnastics training and competition schedule. Lillian is currently a member of the USA Junior Olympic Gymnastics Team. Lillian said she likes that she can do her school work anytime and from anywhere which helps as she trains more than 30 hours a week and travels. She also appreciates how accessible her teachers are how they make sure the students are on target and understand the material.
