🌱 Operation Cincy Chili + Coyotes In Greater Cincinnati Area
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Cincinnati.
Happy Saturday, Cincinnati! Here's everything you need to know about what's happening today.
First, today's weather:
Mostly sunny and very cold. High: 27 Low: 18.
Here are the top three stories today in Cincinnati:
- A Reddit user is sending chili packets to fans around the world through his "Operation Cincy Chili" fundraiser. Bengals fan and Redditor Jonathan Feng has created a sign-up sheet and GoFundMe page for people outside of the Cincinnati area unable to get their hands on the delicious spice blend. Feng's fundraiser goal is $1,000; anything over that amount will be donated to the Joe Burrow Hunger Relief Fund. (WXIX)
- Multiple people in the greater Cincinnati area have reported coyote sightings over the past few weeks. Experts say it's not uncommon to see coyotes this time of year, which coincides with breeding season, as well as cold temperatures that cause the animals to seek shelter and food. They also encourage residents who encounter coyotes to stand their ground, make themselves look "big," and create plenty of noise to discourage them. (WCPO)
- Amid an undercover sting operation by the Cincinnati Police Department, multiple people have been arrested for having sex in Mt. Airy Forest. While prosecutions will proceed, Mayor Aftab Pureval has been "very clear" that "[resources] should be specifically targeted at preventing and prosecuting violent crime" rather than jailing nonviolent offenders."
