Here are the top stories today in Cincinnati:
- An Alabama man is accused of jumping into the Ohio River after he was caught allegedly trying to steal two vehicles. David Stamp is also accused of trying to force his way into a home to try to escape police. Stamp tried to steal both a Dodge Caravan from a woman and an F-150 pickup truck from a business on Thursday, according to court papers. While trying to run from one of the vehicles' owners, Cincinnati Police say Stamp tried to get into a home on Riverside Drive. He then ran across the street and jumped into the river, according to police. (WKRC TV Cincinnati)
- Financial tech company SmartAsset has just released their rankings of the Best Value Colleges in Ohio. And the University of Cincinnati ranks No. 5. That places UC's College Education Value Index at 47.71 (out of 100). The Ohio State University topped the list for the best return on a student's investment in Ohio with a value index of 55.18. (Cincinnati CityBeat)
- Dozens of animals at the Cincinnati Zoo are now on their way to being fully vaccinated thanks to veterinarians with the zoo. Three veterinarians pulled double duty over the past six weeks in order to administer two rounds of SARS-COV-2 shots to 80 animals. They'll be finishing up second doses this week and the following week. (WLWT Cincinnati)
