Walmart/Sam's Club Raise Funds for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital
More than $35 million raised nationally during annual campaign to support critical medical care for children
Walmart and Sam’s Club associates are helping “put the money where the miracles are” again this year with a combined fundraising effort raising $146,000 to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center following the annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals campaign. The fundraising efforts are part of a broader national effort that raised more than $35 million in support of the 170 member hospitals across the country.
Donations poured in from Aug. 29 to Oct. 16, as Walmart and Sam’s Club associates at 32 locations in southwestern Ohio organized in-store fundraising activities and asked customers and members at the register to help the kids and families who rely on Cincinnati Children’s for world-class care.
“Our entire team did an amazing job in finding new and creative ways to support the campaign,” said Market Manager David Seymore. “We are very fortunate to work closely with the team at Cincinnati Children’s and appreciate to outstanding work it does to support children and their families through very difficult times. Each year this campaign brings the entire Walmart team together because we know the difference it makes for so many children.”

The money raised through the fundraising campaign will be used to support divisions and programs throughout Cincinnati Children’s, a top destination for families from across the country seeking specialized care.
“Cincinnati Children’s partnership with Walmart literally changes the lives of the kids and families who count on us for world-class care – Cincinnati, across the country and around the world,” said Natalie Gerano, Corporate Donor Relations, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. “They help us advance important research and improve care. We’re so grateful that they share our vision of a world where kids are happy, healthy and reaching their full potential.”

In addition to the annual campaign results, Walmart also announced it has donated ride-on toys to more than 130 Children’s Hospitals around the country including one to Cincinnati Children’s. The toys can either be used in the hospitals by the children, for local toy drives or for fund raising auctions.
The fall campaign is the most recent in annual fundraising by the retailers. Walmart and Sam's Club associates have collected nearly $1 billion for sick and injured children since partnering with the charity in 1987. Funds raised through Walmart and Sam's Club impact each of the 170 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, which treat one in 10 children across North America. Hospitals utilize the funds based on what they need most — typically providing lifesaving equipment and research, supporting top therapy programs and providing charitable care.
