1 Woman Dead After Vehicular Homicide Incident In Cleveland

Police said a 22-year-old woman faces charges for vehicular homicide after a fatal car accident on Sunday.

CLEVELAND — A 21-year-old woman was killed in a car crash on Sunday, Cleveland police announced.

Around midnight, callers reported that there had been a serious car crash on St. Clair Avenue, near E. 115th Street. When officers arrived they learned a car was speeding down the street. The car was driven by a 22-year-old woman and the 21-year-old, a passenger in the car, was reportedly hanging out of the window, police said.

The 22-year-old lost control of the car and it crashed into a utility pole. The 21-year-old was taken to University Hospitals after the crash, where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the car, the 22-year-old woman, was given a field sobriety test by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. She was then taken into custody on suspicion of aggravated vehicular homicide, police said.
